Who we are | GloMIP

How it started:

GloMIP, the Global Market Intelligence Platform, was designed based on two predecessors: AGGRi's Global Product Repository and the Priority-setting Dashboard developed by Bert Lenaerts. In 2023, GloMIP was co-developed by multiple CGIAR centers and partners, led by the CGIAR Market Intelligence Initiative. It later integrated with the CGIAR Breeding Portal, enhancing its capabilities for donors, investors, breeders, researchers, and scientists. This platform continues to advance market intelligence for more impactful and equitable genetic innovation.

Development of AGGRi's Global Product Repository, creating a centralized resource for market segments and product profiles for rice

January

Official launch of the CGIAR Initiative on Market Intelligence, a new CGIAR initiative for genetic innovation.

May

Development of a priority-setting dashboard incorporating 14 key indicators for strategic decision-making.

Initiated collaboration with the Excellence in Breeding Platform to enhance breeding strategies with market intelligence.

January

Kickoff of the Global Market Intelligence Platform development, marking a new phase of innovation using market intelligence.

March

Launch of Seed Product Market Segments v1.0, offering the first iteration of market segmentation across crops.

June

Conducted a User-Centric Design Workshop in partnership with the CGIAR Digital and Data Group to refine GloMIP tools.

Rolled out GloMIP's Impact Opportunities Portal and Market Segments Portal, new tools for identifying impact opportunities and querying of seed product market segments.

Achieved interoperability between GloMIP and the CGIAR Breeding Portal, enhancing data integration and accessibility.

Rolled out GloMIP's Target Product Profile Portal, new tool for viewing target product profiles and breeding pipelines information.
